Money Skills for Students
Master the real world money habits school didn't teach. From budgeting and saving to avoiding debt and investing, I help young people (14–21) build the confidence to handle adult life without the stress or complexity.
Who this coaching is for?
This service supports young people who want to feel more confident with money before adult life throws real responsibilities their way.
I work with:
Secondary school students (ages 14–17)
Sixth form and college students
Young adults (ages 18–21)
Students preparing for work, university, or independent living
Parental consent is required for students under 16.
Why financial coaching matters at this age
Most people don’t struggle with money because they’re “bad with numbers”. They struggle because they were never taught how money works.
Students today face:
Easy access to credit and buy-now-pay-later schemes
Rising living costs
Financial pressure earlier than previous generations
Big decisions with little guidance
Learning these skills early helps students:
Avoid unnecessary debt
Build healthy money habits
Reduce financial stress later in life
Make better decisions with confidence, not fear.
What students learn
My coaching is practical, age appropriate, and focused on real life not theory
Students are supported with :
Foundations & Banking
Income & Habits: How money works and why small habits matter.
Modern Banking: Navigating accounts, cards, and digital payments safely.
Credit & Debt Awareness
The UK System: How credit works and what your score and items on your report mean.
Avoiding Traps: Understanding the real cost of incurring debt and "buy-now-pay-later" schemes.
Budgeting & Saving
Smart Spending: Managing income and tracking costs without feeling restricted.
Goal Setting: Building emergency funds and saving for short-term goals.
Future Planning
Investing Basics: High level introduction to strategic long-term wealth building concepts.
Life Readiness: Preparing for the financial transition to uni or work.
Everything is explained clearly, with real examples students recognise.
How the coaching works
Sessions are supportive, inclusive and interactive.
There’s no judgement, no pressure, and no expectation that students already “know” anything.
Coaching can be delivered:
One-to-one via online coaching
In partnership with schools, colleges, or organisations run as workshops.
Sessions are structured but flexible, allowing students to ask questions and engage openly.
What makes this different
This is not.
Financial products being sold
Investment recommendations
Pressure to take action
A boring lecture
This isn’t a lecture and it isn’t financial advice.
The focus is on:
Education
Awareness
Building confidence
Developing long-term habits
Students leave understanding why money decisions matter, not just what to do.
